Mariachi & Salsa

Javier Zermeno

Javier Zermeno tells everyone that musicologists and folklorists have argued for years over the origin of the word - Mariachi.

He says that the best scholarly opinion is that the word mariachi comes from the name of the wood used to make the platform on which the performers danced to the music of the village musicians. But whatever its true source - and the truth may never be discovered with absolute certainty - the word today has one meaning that is crystal clear: Mariachi means one of the most exciting and enchanting music found anywhere in the world.

Aguilas De Mexico

Despite the young age of the members of the group, they have the vision of keeping alive their culture, tradition, and strive to touch their audience’s hearts with what they believe is to be the most beautiful music in the world... Mariachi music. Their most important tactic is to interpret their music the most traditional way possible; that antique sound, so beautiful, so expressive, the sound that most Mariachi groups struggle to obtain. Mariachi Aguilas De Mexico would like to offer only the best of the music of Mexico and win their audience’s hearts and their appreciated support.
