Rose Winebrenner - better known to the piano bar and steakhouse crowds as Chicago Rose - is something of a virtuoso, though she's the last person who would say it. Yet, how else would you describe, a 30-year-old singer whose songbook isn't a book at all because she performs more than 500 songs strictly from memory? Winebrenner performs about 300 shows a year. Her playlist is diverse and includes everything from Broadway show tunes to pop and jazz standards. Of course, she wouldn't be a popular piano bar singer is she didn't take requests, and Winebrenner has heard it all, from Smash Mouth to Sinatra.
